Birth: He was born in 1912 at Texas.

Description:

Pre-Colony History: In 1920 he was living with his parents and siblings in New Mexico where his father worked as a farmer.

In May 1928 Comrade Daugherty and two sons, Gene and Robert, recently from New Mexico, but at the time living 40 miles south of the colony, visited the colony and found that it looked so good to them that Baldwin took a truck and brought the family back to the colony that very day.

Brother of Robert, Daisy and Helen Joe Daugherty.

Job in Colony: Shortly after his arrival at the colony he started helping on the cut-off saw at the hardwood mill. Later he was driving the trucks while Busick took care of the wood.

In June 1928 he and Ekstrom went to the Anacoco Creek sawmill where they were going to saw out all the lumber possible that week before the hardwood mill started again.
