Daughter of Ben Wade and Minnie Hewett.

Sister of Allie Belle, Benny Wade, Jr., Irene, Clark, and Eugene Hewett.

Pre-Colony History:  

Home in Colony: In 1935 she was living in the Newllano Colony.  

Job in Colony: In 1935 she was part of a volunteer crew who put in a couple hours into harvesting pears from the orchard before they went to their regular jobs.

In May 1936 she and her mother, along with Mrs. Bondell Banta, Mrs. White, Mrs. Hardy, Ed Mansfield, Harold Emery, and Ed and Ida Cole helped prepare for the first reception of the summer season that was held in the Roof Garden.  

Other Info: In April 1929 Mrs. Minnie Hewett held a birthday party in honor of Billie Busick, five years old, and Charlotte Hewett, just four. Also attending were Clara Mae Fread, Byron Busick, George Maki, Jimmie Dix, Eugene Hewett and Buddy Synoground.

In June 1934, a group of 2nd-4th grade children were taken to the Sabine River for a picnic by their teacher, Mrs. Lentz and Lloyd Potter in his Pontiac, into which the group of eleven all managed to fit. At the river, they went fishing and Lloyd rowed them across the river so each could get a handful of Texas soil to take back to Louisiana with them. They mixed the dirt with Louisiana soil for co-operation and brotherhood. They watched when a car honked its horn for the ferryman at Burr's Ferry and was taken across to Texas. For supper, they built a fire and had biscuits and eggs with strawberry jam. The group included: Dorothy Loutrel, Frances Peecher, Charlotte, Ione Quipp, Lenin Tabb, Robert Peecher, Noel Lentz, Ernest Joynes, William Yost, Mrs. Lentz and Lloyd Potter.

Post-Colony History: In 1940 she was living in a home in the unincorporated New Llano, Louisiana (site of the old colony) with her mother and brother, Eugene.  

Death: She died in 1988 in Idaho. Her spouse at the time was Arthur B. Dick.
