Helen Emry (Alternate spelling Hellen)  

Birth: Born around 1918 in Iowa.  

Family Information: Daughter of Robert H. and Cora Mae Emry.

Sister of Basil, Willard, Kenneth and Archie Emry.

Half-sister of Annette (Emry) Bradshaw and Opal (Emry) Layer.   

Description:  

Pre-Colony History: In 1920 was living in Iowa with her parents; in 1930 and 1940 she was living in Montana with her mother.

In September 1931 the Emry family including Cora Emry, Helen, Basil, Willard and Archie returned to the colony from Montana -- they had left the colony four years prior (probably shortly after the death of Robert). The trip took them nine days as they visited with friends along the way.

Other Info: Was one of 16 girls who wound the broad ribbons round the Maypole at Llano's birthday party in 1932 (other dancers included Nellie (Kemp) Bradshaw, Laura (Synoground) Swenson, Ruth Shoemaker, Sylvia and Ruth Tuber, Verda Bradshaw, Hortense Self, Esta Caves, Winnie (Ogden) Dougherty, Vivian Busick, Irene Hewitt, Myrtle and Irene Maki, Marguerite Killian, Iris Busick, Flora Young and Rhea Mae Baldwin.)

Death: Died in 2004 in Montana.
