Willard Emry 

Birth: Born about 1915 in Iowa.  

Family Information: Son of Robert H. and Cora Mae Emry.

Brother of Basil, Kenneth, Archie and Helen Emry.

Half-brother of Annette (Emry) Bradshaw and Opal (Emry) Layer.   

Description:  

Pre-Colony History: In 1920 he was living in Iowa with his parents. In 1930 he was living in Montana with his mother.

In September 1931 the Emry family including Cora, Helen, Basil, Willard and Archie returned to the colony from Montana -- they had left the colony four years prior (apparently soon after the death of Robert. The trip took them nine days as they visited with friends along the way.  

Home in Colony:  

Job in Colony: In 1932 he worked in a variety of jobs -- in February he was bedding sweet potatoes in the hot beds; in March he was working at the ice plant where he and Paul Bradshaw worked the shift from 7 AM to 3 PM. He also did garden work on the Briggs place. In April he was working at the sheet-iron works, making trash cans. He was doing a mighty good job of saving useable parts from cars thrown on the discard pile.
