Jane Schutz

Birth: She was born around 1887 in Nebraska.  

Family Information: She married Carl Schutz in 1904 in Nebraska.

Mother of Alvin, Ethel, Vina and Chrystal Schutz.  

Description:  

Pre-Colony History: In 1910 she was living with her husband and two children in Nebraska.

In 1930 the family was living at Longville, Louisiana, neighbors of the Paul Giltner family.

They came to make their home in the colony in March 1932 with a truck load of furniture.  

Home in Colony:  

Job in Colony: In December 1932 she made mittens for the farm crew which were greatly appreciated on chilly mornings. She and her daughter prepared meals for the farm crew at the Hoag unit.

In February 1933 she was working in the kitchen.  

Other Info:  

Post-Colony History: In 1940 she and Carl were living in Vernon Parish, Louisiana.  

Death: She died in 1971. Her last residence was in Kansas.
