Charles E. "Charley" Murray

Birth: He was born in 1918 at Louisiana.

Family Information: Son of Emma (Phillips) and A.M. "Mack" Murray.

Brother of Jack, Rufus and Opal Murray. Other siblings included Jewel (Murray) Brown and Ida Mae (Murray) Dennis.

Uncle of Herman and Sybil Murray.  

Description:  

Pre-Colony History: In 1920 he was living with his parents and siblings at Union Parish, Louisiana and in 1930 at Lincoln Parish, Louisiana.  

Home in Colony:  

Job in Colony: In October 1936 Mrs. Watson was the foreman of the laundry crew along with Cy Horney, chief launderer; Charley Murray, his helper; Mattie Turner, Sarah Murray and Esther Brown, ironers; and Mrs. Hullinger, mangler. Cy also pressed the men's pants.

Post-Colony History: He enlisted in the US Army in December 1942 and was released from service in July 1945.  

Death: He died in 2001; his last residence listed with the Social Security office was at Minden, Louisiana.
